The second scene introduces us more in depth to James Ford (our Main Character) ,we will use narration in order to add the classic film noir feel coupled with jazz music to make a fantastic feel during this we will establish his life story. The third scene will establish the main story plot of the file being given to James by the mystery woman.

Act 2:
This scene will pick up pace progressively throughout. It will show the organisation leading a background check upon James as they are looking at him in order to embroil him within their plot .They have the plan to use him as a private transporter due to his innate abilities in espionage, even though he has forgotten large chunks of his memory his abilities remain. The Organisation are going to bribe him with the promise that they can give him his memory back, that adds in an unborn dilemma of the fact that he knows that what he is doing is wrong but he has no other choice.

The next scene is on a train and it shows our actor being watched and followed by some shady individuals. He suspects that he is being watched by them through his ability to sense when he is being watched, he then tries to get away from the people following him. It then switches to a chase scene and he comes to a clearing where he is met by the people following him who then threaten him and put him at gun point. The trailer will then end with a gun shot and the camera moving out towards the sky with smooth jazz music setting a melo film noir theme for the end of the trailer.

The Elements of Film Noir

This video glosses over the aspects found in a typical Film Noir piece and shows classic scenes which define the Genre as well as Actors and Actresses associated with the genre.

Film Noir props

Above are props that we wish to inclde within our film in order to gain the ideas for props first i looked at the written treatment and script to find areas were something such as a gun might be used and also i looked at films of the Film noir genre and found that certain props were found in almost all of the films because of  this we are going to follow the trend and try and use as many of the classic props as possible. The props we are going to use are hats, cigarettes, guns, newspapers, blinds and phones. All of the props that i have chosen will cretae a classic film noir feel with the modern twist of mobile telephones.

Teaser Poster

This Teaser poster for our film shows a location which we wish to use for our film also the background faded and dark represents that this film will be of the Film Noir genre so therefore we will have to find places were we can use lighting to our advantages a feature which we really want to add in is the use of    shadows in order to create the idea of mystery. Also we may think about using the classic blind scene to show somebody watching him so that there is always a sense of him being watched which will create suspense.

Film Noir: Moodboard

I have collated some shots from some films in the Film Noir genre and i can see that they frequently use shadows and lighting to create effect also smoking is used in order to show a variety of emotions and moods such as relaxation and also to build suspense another iconic feature is the use of blinds because they create a brilliant lighting effect and also build suspense around the character and creates an eyre of mystery which is classic of the Film Noir genre.

Character Description

This post explains who the characters in our film are and what there role is in the film.

James Ford: is the main character of our film. He is an ex government agent who was lost in the field as he suffered an injury that caused him to lose his memory. Because of this, he wanders on the streets of London not knowing who he is or what happened to him.

Boss: This is the crime boss that wants James Ford to deliver secret government files to another crime boss. He is a wealthy man who believes himself to be untouchable and tries to take down the government. However he doesn't like to get his hands dirty, so he gets others to assist him in his foul deeds and in this case it is ex government agent James Ford.

Women: This is the bosses accomplice, she is the agent who is told to go and persuade James to do her bosses bidding. She is a ruthless character who considers herself to be safe because of her position in the organization yet she has a rebellious side and has the tendency to get emotionally involved with the people that are brought in.

Henchman x3: These are the people that work for the main crime boss, they are basically the pawns and whatever the boss says they do. In the film they are the ones who follow James Ford and make sure he is on track to do what he has been told. It is their job to make sure he doesn't step out of line, and if he does, deal with it.

Government Agents: These were James Ford's team members from when he worked for the government. They are the agents who are trying to intercept the file so that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. They realise who James Ford is and try to make him remember and give up the file but if they cannot they have to make the hard decision of what to do with him as they have been told to get the file by any means necessary.

Plot Synopsis

Our films main plot is that the main character has a military background but due to an accident on one of his missions he lost his memory and cannot remember who he is and because he was on a secret task the government has lost track of him and thinks he is dead.

When the gang finds out about his background and they use him to there advantage to deliver a file that holds important information about all of the secret government agents that, in the wrong hands, can bring down the government. They persuade him to do this job in exchange for the information about his past.

As he transports the file he is being followed and then chased by men in suits, who turn out to be the government. Because he cannot remember he thinks that they are the bad guys trying to kill him and steal the file and that he is working for the good guys.

He then recognizes the symbol that the gang uses to identify themselves and has a flash back of his accident. this is where he finds out that the people he is working for are the same people he was trying to bring down when he was working for the government and that the file he now has is the same file that he was trying in intercept. Once he realizes this, he then try to take down the gang who he is working for now whilst trying to avoid getting killed by the government who still think that he is one of the bad guys.

His big task now is to prove to the government that he is working for them again whilst trying to keep the allusion that he is still working for the bad guys in order to take them down from the inside.

This is a basic plot that outlines the whole underlining story for the film that we are making our trailer about. This is so that we know the outline of our story so that when we come to making the trailer we know the different aspects that we need to include and the type of story that we need to get across in our trailer.

Costume:Main Character

Main Character :
Start of trailer seen as a washed up lowlife: (Tramp) - ( Teared clothes no shoes, bin bags and newspaper for warmth. )
These images show in depth part of what the character will look like in his costume in the beginning of the trailer.
The meaning of being worthless for the trailer is necessary as we need to give him a background from where he has come from. This will be shown in the trailer him as a lesser individual and the transformation of him becoming the man he once was.

The contrast in the pictures highlights the drastic change undertaken.

Costumes:Other Characters

Boss: Is a powerful leader that is behind the file job, we find out that he is the main person thats in charge of the people attacking our main character.

We have shortlisted a list of possible ethnicities for our boss character and have profiled the pros of using these different ethnicities:

Italian comes across as rich and wealthy
Spanish comes across as a fighting character who Is rich
British comes across as a behind the scenes person who, gets other people to do his dirty work
French comes across as smart and intelligent.

The reason for this is because each culture has different types of bosses in this situation which can approach the audience differently with a different aspect of being a Mob Boss due to changes throughout different ethnicities. however we have decided to edge towards the italian aspect due to inspiration from previous films such as The Godfather.

Women is wealthy works for the boss: The Woman will be wearing a skirt and blazer in order to show that she is a professional and that she doesn't take any shit. This will be represented to show the kind of person that she works for because if she dresses like this then the Boss must take it very seriously, highlighting the importance of the Job and the severity of the repercussions he will face if he fails in his task.

Other actors which are the three men, will all be dressed in casual wear to blend in with the public, so that the main character doesn't know who is following him.

Location

For our location we wanted places that reflect what we are trying to say about the character but still keeping with the idea of the film, below are some pictures of the sort of place that we would like to film because they fit the story and the atmosphere we are trying to put across in some scenes but also they will allow us to show a part of the character through them. for example, the garages will most likely be used in a scene where he is alone and is approached by the people who want him to do the job. This location can reflect on how he has nothing in his life but with the people approaching him it offers him a way out.

Feedback (changes)

My group and I pitched our idea to a group of our peers and received feedback on our initial ideas, the feedback that we received was very constructive and i believe we can make our film better as a result of the feedback given to us.The group of our peers queried the basis of our story line and said that they needed to be able to be enticed by the story and be made to want to watch it and if we were to continue with the idea that we show a rich man flashback to the story of how he got rich then they would not connect with him and we would not get as many views of the film that we want so therefore we are going to change the beginning of our film to make sure that people want to watch and to show that he is not guaranteed to come out on top so we milk the mystery aspect that nobody quite knows what is going to happen to him. We are going to change it so that we show him at Gunpoint and then we flashback to how he got in to that god damn mess, making this change in our film is going to be better over all as it makes the voyeur want to continue viewing the film as it is exciting due to the fact that the story is unpredictable as you know that he gets to that point but you do not know the outcome of the encounter and you also will have no idea of how he got to that stage so that it has a mystery element mixed with the action which will make for one very unpredictable and chilling film were mystery shrouds the end so you do not know if he triumphs or fails.

Moodboard

The pictures in the mood board are all part of action/mystery genre films. I have chosen these pictures because they all feature anger, violence, deceit and non-stop action. These films collectively inspired us to think of our idea and there are aspects of these individual films that we are going to use in our final production.
